Our Story

Hi I’m Melanie Jayne Chase and I am the founder of My Fairytale Gifts online shop, being a true May Queen (I was born on the first of May) I’ve always been captivated and inspired by the Natural world, Magical folklore, Myths and Legends and these heavily influence me and my work.

I am a natural born artist and have been making things since I could co-ordinate my hands but I also have a BA Hons in Fashion Design with Marketing and manufacture and worked in the clothing industry for 10 years before having the youngest of my two boys. 

Padpod & Berrie my Jewellery and Accessories brand was tentatively formed after many years of getting round to it as a busy working Mum, to initially show the boys that if you put your mind to it you can make a business out of something that you love doing!  Padpod & Berrie is a collaboration of my sons' nicknames, Adam “Adpadpod” and Jack “Jackleberrie” so..…. Padpod & Berrie!

My art is quite sculptural by nature of my love to capture form and colour composition and I adore creating miniatures, so this naturally lent itself to creating wonderful and original wearable art jewellery and accessories. Using a combination of mixed media and fine silver I bring my pieces to life, designing and creating in my hobby room or at my kitchen table and fit this in round my family life.

All of the pieces I create are very special to me they are a little pieces of me as an artist showing my self-expression to the world. Many of my pieces are Ooak (one of a kind) and/ or made to order, I also consider commissions, so please email me to discuss. However as all my pieces are handmade by myself they are all unique.

Through My Fairytale Gifts Online Shop, my aim is to bring together a wonderful array of Collections for you to delve into from Handmade Jewellery and Accessories through to Artisan Home Decor a place with all the Beauty and Bustle of a Craft Fair without ever having to leaving your own Home. So that you can choose Handmade One of a Kind pieces that express and compliment your own unique style or become fabulous treasured Gifts for that special person.
